Honduran central midfielder Amado Guevara (no relation to Che as far as we know) has been rumored to be in contact with the MetroStars. Guevara, 26, was named the MVP of the 2001 Copa America after leading surprising Honduras to a 3rd place finish. He started every game of the CONCACAF hexagonal as Honduras just missed out on a place in the World Cup. Guevara currently plays for Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica, where he is reported to be the highest paid player in Central America at $12,000/month. His previous teams include Motagua (Honduras), Valladolid (Spain), Toros Neza (Mexico), and Zacatepec (Mexico).
