Omar Valencia called up from reserves again
August 26, 2023 (Official Press Release)

The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II defender Omar Valencia to a short-term agreement, the club announced today.

Valencia will be available for the Red Bulls' MLS regular season match this weekend against Inter Miami CF at Red Bull Arena. This will be the defender's third short-term agreement, with the other two coming in June and July of this year.

Valencia, 19, has been with the New York Red Bulls II for the last two seasons on loan from C.D. Plaza Amador. The defender has made 16 career appearances for NYRB II, while making 14 starts and recording two assists. Valencia made his debut for the Panamanian National Team on June 11, 2022, in a friendly against Uruguay. The Panamanian was most recently called up during Panama's run in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup this past July.
