If you are paying close attention to preseason games, you might have noticed a defender only labeled as "Trialist". While other trialists, such as Cheikh M'Baye, are clearly identified by names, this one's identity has been kept hidden.

One possibility emerged out of Austria. According to Sky Sport, defender Lukas Schubert completed a two-week trial with RBNY in February.

Schubert, 26, had spent his entire career with SV Grodig. After suffering a heart ailment in 2013, he spent 21 months away from soccer. Schubert went through Red Bull Salzburg's academy (synergy!).

Update: Empire of Soccer reports that Schubert is NOT the mystery trialist. According to BigAppleSoccer, he is actually trying out for RBNY II.
