For some reason, for the first time in history, the club did not award any of the end-season awards. So let's do the team and one better and deduce who should have been named RBNY MVP, Defender of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year!

Quite simply, let's look at the MLS Best XI. It has two Metros in it: Luis Robles (also the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year) and Dax McCarty. So the MVP has to be between the two. Considering McCarty was Metro's only all-star, we will award it to him. (Coincidentally, he was also the MetroFanatic Player of the Year!) This leaves Robles for the Defender of the Year award. (Although one can make a case for either Damien Perrinelle and Matt Miazga.)

For newcomer, candidates include Felipe Martins, Mike Grella, and Kemar Lawrence, but it should be pretty clear that the award should go to Sacha Kljestan.
