Devon "Speedy" Williams trialing
June 14, 2015
What if someone told you that RBNY has had a trialist for the past two weeks who made his national team debut at the age of 18? And that someone is a speedy midfielder? Sounds promising, doesn't it?
Let's curb our enthusiasm. As reported by BigAppleSoccer, the speedy midfielder is Devon "Speedy" Williams, whose lone cap for Jamaica did happen at that tender age of 18... Back in 2010. Since then, he has spent four years at Robert Morris University, amassing eight goals and 16 assists in 71 games. He has also been capped for the Jamaican Under-20 team.
Coming out of college, Williams was not drafted.
BAS also reports two other young trialists, both 18 years old: English attacker Trey Williams, last with Queens Park Rangers youth team, and former Trinidad and Tobago U-17 international Andre Fortune.
