Apparently, the minor league team doesn't want to play ball. RBNY recalled Connor Lade from his loan to the Cosmos, so that the diminutive midfielder/defender can play in the pointless Champions League game against Montreal. (Why RBNY would use a bench player as opposed to someone who needs to play in the regular season finale should be obvious to anyone.)

According to the original agreement, Lade could be recalled at any time. However, the Cosmos threw a fit, saying that there was a handshake deal and Lade was supposed to stay with the minor leaguers for the rest of the year. So... Lade is back, for good, according to BigAppleSoccer.

Minor league indeed.
