Pathetic Metro bows out of Open Cup to 10-man Palace
July 1, 2008

2:0
Baltimore New York

07.01.08 · Open Cup

Pathetic.

One word: pathetic.

Up a man for more than a half. Playing a USL2 team rostered with no-names. Losing 2:0.

Let's say it again: pathetic.

Leaving your best players at home. Starting a goalkeeper who lost it two years ago. Starting two players making their professional debut. A 4-5-1 formation.

A 4-5-1 formation against a third division club!

Disgusting. Disgraceful. Detestable. Despicable. Pathetic.

Pathetic and sad. Sad for those Metro fans who made the trek down and cheered for 90 minutes only to be treated to this result. Sad for those glued to their computers, for those who remember Open Cup exist to Staten Island... Charleston... Rochester... and now Baltimore.

Why can't this franchise ever learn from its history?

Pathetic...

Lineup: Thornton, Gilkerson, Goldthwaite, Parke, Leitch, Mendes, Sassano, Borman, Kljestan, Magee, Megaloudis. Subs: Boyens, Ubiparipovic, Wolyniec, Roth.
