The New York Red Bulls overcame a early 2-0 second half deficit by scoring three unanswered goals in 19 minutes for a 3-2 win over the Red Bull Salzburg Reserves in an 80-minute match. Midfielder Mike Magee recorded the winner in the 78th minute for the visiting New York team that wrapped up a 12-day trip to Austria.

The two teams played to a scoreless first half before Salzburg's Vladmir Janocko scored three minutes into the second half. Salzburg went up by a 2-0 score just five minutes later with another tally inside the box by Djordje Rakic.

The New York side got on the board in the 59th minute when Juan Pablo Angel buried a rebound from in close after a Claudio Reyna shot from inside the area was stopped by Salzburg's Heinz Arzberger. Luke Sassano scored his first goal as a member of the Red Bulls with a left-footed line drive inside the area on a perfect pass from Reyna in the 66th minute. Magee netted his first goal on a sliding redirect from a Sassano shot in the goalmouth to give the New York side the lead for the first time.

Trialist Lidor Marmol was forced to leave the game with a hamstring injury in the sixth minute of the match and is expected to be out of action for six weeks.
