We keep telling ourselves, it's early. But right now, it's looking good. Coming off a 4:0 win just five days ago, Metro has an easy time once again, riding two early goals to a 3:0 victory over Chicago. Jozy Altidore tallied the opener, the fastest goal in Metro history, and Juan Pablo Angel had the other two to bring his total to four goals in all competitions in just four games.

Todd Dunivant sustained an injury in training, so Dave van den Bergh moved to the backline, and Altidore started in left midfield. 55 seconds into the match, the newly-minted winger paid off. Angel passed to John Wolyniec, who had his back to the net, and in turn passed back to Jozy, who slammed it home.

Less than two minutes later, the lead was doubled when a bad clear of a Dane Richards cross by Chicago's C.J. Brown was brought down by from the air Angel. The Colombian striker scored his second in as many games with the ensuing shot. The two goals in three minutes to start the game tied the league record.

Jeff Parke left at halftime after picking up an injury, replaced by the much-maligned and lanky Taylor Graham. In the 69th minute, a number of passes through and around the box led to Graham miss-hitting the ball to Angel, who switched feet, faked out Chris Armas (who ended up on the ground), as well as Matt Pickens. The ball went past the Fire keeper to mark Angel's first two-goal game for Metro. Graham got his first Metro point with the assist.

Chicago had their share of shots, but most of them ended harmlessly in Jon Conway's hands. The supposed backup earned his second straight shutout, as Metro entered a week-and-a-half break on a definite high. But it's still early.

Lineup: Conway, van den Bergh, Mendes, Parke, Kovalenko, Stammler, Mathis, Richards, Altidore, Wolyniec, Angel. Subs: Graham, Ubiparipovic, Schopp.
