July 1, 2006 (Official Game Summary)
The New England Revolution reserves and the Red Bull New York reserves drew 1-1 on Saturday night under the lights at Gillette Stadium. New York's David Arvizu opened the scoring in the 35th minute but Revolution forward Willie Sims scored the equalizer with a header off a Ryan Latham corner kick in 73rd minute as both teams earned a point in MLS Reserve Division play.
The Red Bulls' counterattack could not muster much until the 35th minute when midfielder Jerrod Laventure passed from his right flank position to Arvizu who slotted the ball inside the near post to give New York a 1-0 lead.
In the 73rd minute, Latham took a corner kick, finding rookie Sims in the center of the box who headed it straight on past Jon Conway, to notch the score at 1-1.
