It took five games and 93 minutes of the sixth, but the MetroStars finally got a home win, coming back to beat Chicago 2:1. Amado Guevara scored in the third minute of injury time to pull out a brilliant victory on a night that was supposed to belong to David Beckham.

Coming off the 3:0 shellacking of Columbus, the Metros fielded exactly the same lineup as on the weekend. But this time, they weren't able to break through in the first half. Neither did Chicago, and the scoreline remained empty until Tim Regan was judged to bring down Chris Rolfe in the Metro penalty area in the 55th minute. Jesse Marsch took the kick, and Zach Wells, who guessed correctly three days ago, did not this time.

John Wolyniec, who came on for Youri Djorkaeff at the half (the Frenchman re-injured his calf), got the Metros even in the 76th minute, out-jumping the Fire defense and heading in a Guevara free kick.

But it was Guevara who played the final hero. With stoppage time winding down, Abbe Ibrahim forced a turnover from Samuel Caballero. Guevara took over the ball took a few steps, and perfectly placed a curving shot from across the box into the upper right corner of the net to send whatever crowd was left from the England-Colombia game into a frenzy.

Two in a row is nice... We'll see where Metro go from here.

Lineup: Wells, Regan, Parke, Mendes, Leitch, Bradley, Magee, Guevara, Gaven, Djorkaeff, Ibrahim. Subs: Wolyniec, Lisi.
