Nick-o-lodeon: March 2004
Ives Galarcep - NJ Herald News; March 30, 2004
Contrary to a recent published report, the MetroStars stadium project has not been approved and the agreements needed to make it a reality have yet to be signed, MetroStars president Nick Sakiewicz said Monday.
"We're making great progress, the last final stages of putting the documentation together but agreement have not been signed," said Sakiewicz. "We expect that they will be in the next couple of weeks."
The final steps to be taken for the project are the signing of agreements between the town of Harrison, the MetroStars and the Advance Group (the project's developer), the approval on those agreements by Harrison's town council and the final approval by Hudson County Freeholders. If the project is approved at each step, construction of the MetroStars stadium could begin in February of 2005, which would allow for a grand opening by the summer of 2006.
