Media Day with Joey DiGiamarino
April 9, 2003
MetroFanatic: You came back to the league after a couple years away. What made you leave the league two years ago?
Joey DiGiamarino: My decision was just to try something different, to try and play at the highest level I could, to maybe make me a better player. Obviously I had injuries, so it turned out to be a tough decision, but I lived with it and now I'm back playing in MLS, where I wish I would have stayed, but you make decisions and you live with them. So I'm happy to be back.
MF: How is your injury right now?
JD: It's good. I think I took the proper time off this last year to make it better, and it's feeling pretty good right now. So I'm happy.
MF: How do you feel about coming to the MetroStars?
JD: I'm very happy. Great guys here, great coaching staff; I couldn't be playing for a better coach in the league my first year coming back. I think this team's going to do well this year. We're a very close team, and we work hard, so I think we're going to do well.
MF: Are you going to play in the back or on the wing?
JD: I don't know; that's up to the coach. I just go out and work hard every day, and wherever I play, I'm happy.
