After some rumbles about a Premiership and a Ligue 1 team wanting to sign Aaron Long, a name has finally emerged: West Ham. According to Sky Sports, Long is trying to secure a work permit before the English transfer window closes on August 4th.

Sky Sports reports that Long "has a £4m release clause in his contract and wants to move to the Premier League". Kristian Dyer contradicts, tweeting that "there's no release clause".

"I just signed a new contract, so the decision is up to my club and the other team," Long is quoted as saying by Sky. "NY Red Bulls gave me an amazing opportunity, so it would also be a dream to play for RB Leipzig or Red Bull Salzburg, but that won't happen because they only sign players 24 or under."
