Zambrano takes blame for Clintgate
June 27, 2002

Octavio Zambrano had the following to say about Clint Mathis' exclusion from the gameday roster versus Colorado: "He wasn't on the roster. It was an oversight on my part. I'll take the blame for it. [...] Clint should have been on the pitch, and probably he would have made a difference, but it wasn't about Clint. [...] The important thing is that we don't point fingers. The buck stops with me. I'm the one that is gonna take this one, because that's what happened. The players underperformed, and so did we. We let everybody down, but the last thing I want to do is to start to point fingers. That is not a good way to build for the next game."
