Update on Kemar Lawrence
May 21, 2018

The New York Red Bulls released the following statement on Twitter: "All tests performed at hospital were negative. Kemar traveled home this afternoon, along with the athletic trainer that stayed with him. He is upbeat and in good spirits."

Lawrence spoke to SportsMax.TV, saying "I lost my footing so I was trying to use my chest to block the ball so that it wouldn't pass me, but in losing my footing I lost balance, so when I was falling, my neck kind of flipped backwards. I felt a shocking pain and after that, I don't know what happened until I woke up.

Am good. Am not too sure if it was the ball or what. They're still trying to figure out exactly what the reasons were for the blackout but I am good, nothing to worry about. [I did] a bunch of different tests and everything came back clear so we are kind of at that level for now.

I spent the night at the hospital and did a bunch of tests, they monitored by heart, they did brain scans, everything is good. So they basically said it was nothing to worry about, no concussion, no symptoms of concussion so I should be on be on the field hopefully playing between now and the game we play on Saturday against Philadelphia Union."
