Sacha Kljestan finally called up by USA
August 29, 2016

Jurgen Klinsmann has finally seen the light. The German coach of the US national soccer team finally called up the best American playing in MLS this year, Sacha Kljestan. It was only as a late injury replacement, so maybe "seen the light" is an overstatement. "Stopped being a complete idiot"?

In any case, Kljestan has been called up for World Cup qualifiers against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on September 2 and Trinidad and Tobago on September 6, meaning he will should miss the game at Vancouver sandwiched between the two. Kljestan's last appearance for the US came in March 2014 vs Ukraine. In 46 American caps, he has scored four goals, three of them coming in one game against Sweden in 2009.
