RBNY II tops Louisville at top of the table, 1:0

New York Red Bulls II became the first USL team to clinch a berth in the 2016 USL playoffs on Friday night with a 1-0 win over Louisville City FC at Red Bull Arena. Brandon Allen converted a penalty kick to give New York the win.
With the game scoreless in the 71st minute, NYRB II forward Junior Flemmings was taken down at the edge of the penalty area. After the initial foul call, the referee made a request for the Video Assistant Referee. A review of the play deemed that the foul had occurred inside the penalty area, and a penalty was awarded to NYRB II.
Allen stepped to the spot and converted, his team-leading 11th of the season.
Ryan Meara recorded the shutout, his eighth and the team's 12th of the season in 23 games.
