New York Red Bulls II defeated Charlotte Independence on the road, 2-1. Stefano Bonomo scored early and Dan Metzger provided the game-winning goal in the 64th minute after Charlotte was reduced to 10 men.

Red Bulls II extended its undefeated streak to 11 games, and is 8-0-3 on its current run. They also remained unbeaten on the road, improving to 7-0-1 away from home. The club has not lost a game since May 1 in their first matchup against Charlotte at Red Bull Arena.

New York opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Florian Valot's cross connected with the head of Bonomo, who nodded in his third goal of the season. Charlotte tied the game in the 49th minute, thanks to Jun Davidson on a counter attack.

Brian Brown, who assisted the Independence's goal, was sent off in the 60th minute for a challenge on Junior Flemmings, reducing the home side to 10-men for the remainder of the match.

New York wasted no time taking advantage, finding the go-ahead goal four minutes later off of a corner kick. Vincent Bezecourt whipped in the corner, which was flicked on by Tim Schmoll to Metzger. The midfielder took one touch and fired his shot into the side netting to restore New York's lead.

Aaron Long, who started the match at center back and exited the match at halftime, was issued a red card on the bench in the 87th minute and will miss New York's next match on Wednesday.
