Where was this earlier this year? Metro put in a dominating performance, overwhelming Dallas in every area of the field. The resounding 4:0 victory was a just result. Who would have guessed that two weeks ago?

Jesse Marsch's lone change from last week's triumph was the benching of Karl Ouimette for Chris Duvall. Even though we once again a right back play out of position, tonight it didn't matter. Metro dominated the midfield so much that it left the defense with very little to do. Dallas had one real chance during the entire match, and that was kick saved by Luis Robles. The stalwart goalkeeper finally earned his first shutout of the year.

Metro's opener came after a fantastic free kick in the 37th minute. Three players ran over the ball without touching it, fooling Dallas. Eventually, Sacha Kljestan lobbed it in the box, where it was redirected by Sal Zizzo to the front of the net. Lloyd Sam got his first of the year from close range.

Sam and Kljestan combined for the second as well, in the 52nd. With Dallas keeper (and American traitor) Jesse Gonzalez out of position, Sam blasted a shot from far out and off the crossbar. Gonzalez backtracked, falling into the net, but Kljestan followed through, knocking the rebound in.

In the 71st, Felipe set up Mike Grella for a slamming header to make it 3:0. In the 83rd, it was the Brazilian's time to score, as Felipe's blast went off Gonzalez's fingers and ended in the net. Alex Muyl received his first MLS assist on the play.

A terrific victory not seen since the glory times of 2015. So, really, where was this earlier this year?

Lineup: Robles, Lawrence, Zubar, Duvall, Zizzo, McCarty, Martins, Kljestan, Grella, Sam, Wright-Phillips. Subs: Muyl, Bilyeu, Davis.
