Will Packwood arrives on trial
June 22, 2015

It looks like we have a new trialist, and this one actually has played professional soccer. BigAppleSoccer reports that US youth international Will Packwood has arrived on trial with RBNY. The defender was released by Birmingham City last month and was recently on trial with New England.

Packwood joined Birmingham's academy at the age of 14, and made his first-team debut in 2012. Overall, he has appeared in 35 matches over three seasons, also spending time on loan with Bristol Rovers, Colchester, and Cheltenham Town. So, perhaps, saying he has "played" professional soccer is an overstatement.

Packwood has played for the US on the U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels. He participated in the 2009 U-17 World Cup in Nigeria.

It is yet to be seen if a cheap, unwanted defender with limited playing time fits "the right player" mode as described by magisterial GM Ali Curtis.
