Aziz Yusif of Ghana to trial?
May 8, 2015
You might have noticed that this year's Metro does not exactly have depth at forward. Bradley Wright-Phillips' lone understudy is 18-year-old Anatole Abang, who doesn't exactly inspire confidence at this point. So, could help be coming?
According to Modern Ghana, striker Abdul Aziz Yusif is coming on a three-week trial. He is currently a free agent.
"I'm hopeful of landing a permanent deal," Yusif said. "That is the dream of every player to play actively. I have to go out there and work hard to impress the coach and his technical staff."
Yusif, 23, was transferred from Ghana's Asante Kotoko to Egypt's Smouha last year. A coaching change led to mutual contract termination.
Update: Jesse Marsch told BigAppleSoccer, "The kid Aziz we know of but... We're familiar with him and we've looked at him but there's but no discussion about him coming here yet."
