New York Red Bulls II suffered its second consecutive loss this on Sunday against Rochester Rhinos, 2-0. Alex Dixon opened the scoring for Rochester in the 40th minute and clinched the victory in the 68th minute when Jonny Mendoza slid in the second goal.

The best chance for Red Bulls II came in the 31st minute on a free-kick. Derrick Etienne hit a driven, curling ball into the box, but NYRB II was unable to get a head on the ball and after bouncing around in a dangerous area, the ball was cleared away.

The Rhinos broke the deadlock in the 40th minute on a goal that began with a turnover in the Red Bulls II end. Andrew Jean-Baptiste received the ball and was put under heavy pressure from Rochester. The Rhinos forced a turnover and the ball fell to Tyler Rudy just outside of the box. Rudy hit a curling ball on goal. Castano made a diving save, but the ball deflected towards Alex Dixon. Dixon smashed his chance on the volley into the back of the net.

Rochester forced a turnover in the midfield which quickly turned into a dangerous counter-attack in the 68th minute. Mendoza was picked out in space on the left side and charged into the penalty box alone. Castano charged forward, but Mendoza hit a low shot past the goalkeeper to double the Rhinos' advantage.

Juan Sebastian Sanchez nearly put Red Bulls II on the board in the 88th minute when he nearly connected with a cross in the six-yard box, but the ball was a sent in a little too early.
