Problems at home? Party in Qatar!
January 22, 2015
Just in case some of you were starting to sip from the fizzy yellow/orange Austrian Kool-Aid after last week's Town Hall, foolhardy Mike Petke successor Jesse Marsch tweeted a picture today of a company retreat he's taking part in this weekend. Marsch, who increasingly looks the part of an incompetent public figure, was kind enough to include a clear shot of the signage that indicates where Red Bull's meeting of minds is taking place: at the "Aspire Zone", aka Doha Sports City, in Qatar.
The same Aspire Zone that is "key" to Qatar's corruption-aided 2022 World Cup bid.
Located in the same city where the AP recently reported on Qatar's widespread mistreatment of migrant workers building structures to host said World Cup.
Don't worry about Marsch though, in his own words he's "proud to be a part of it." Whether that's yet another reference to the energy drink consortium or the enforced slavery of foreigners, we can't say for sure.
What we can say for certain is Red Bull has no qualms about planning corporate events in a country that finances terrorism and mistreats foreign laborers.
A sale can't happen soon enough.
