Andrew Jean-Baptiste to be signed?
January 20, 2015

According to the NY Post, RBNY is close to signing defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste. The 22-year-old is a three-year MLS veteran, having played for Portland and Chivas USA.

Jean-Baptiste is actually a product of the Red Bull Academy, but was not eligible for a homegrown offer because he did not meet minimum requirements. Instead, he went into the draft, where Portland selected him 8th overall in 2012. He played in 10 league matches for Chivas last year, and was not selected by anyone in the dispersal draft.

Also, according to Empire of Soccer, RBNY is looking at Montreal's Felipe. One of Jesse Marsch's favorites from his stint with the club, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has spent three years with the underachieving Canadian club.
