Jonny Steele signs with Newcastle Jets
July 13, 2014

Three days ago, when Jonny Steele's contract was terminated, it was revealed that he had an opportunity outside the league. That turned out to be in Australia, with Newcastle Jets. Steele will be joining his former left-sided Metro teammate, David Carney.

"Jonny is an established player who comes to us at a good age and with good experience under his belt from his time in the MLS," Jets head coach Phil Stubbins said. "His signing certainly adds strength to our midfield, particularly on the left-hand side and he's a player that is capable of contributing goals as well, which is a obviously a very valuable attribute."
