Espindola, Pearce on their way out?
November 26, 2013

It looks like Fabian Espindola will not return next year, reports Empire of Soccer. Multiple sources have told the website that the Argentine's option for 2014 was not picked up. EoS reports that Espindola's salary for next season would be "at least a 450K hit" against the salary cap. He made 150K last season.

Also, Goal.com reports that Heath Pearce has "agreed to part ways" with RBNY. The defender, who missed the last half of last season, is out of contract. He made 331K last year, but a large part of that salary was covered by Chivas USA.

Espindola, who arrived during the past offseason in a trade with Jamison Olave, became the first New York player to score two goals on his debut. He ended up with nine goals in league play, eleven in all competitions.

Pearce, who was acquired in the middle of 2013 for Juan Agudelo, suffered from loss of form last year. He was benched and then elected to have season-ending surgery in June.
