Interest in Nigel Reo-Coker?
January 18, 2013
RBNY could be interested in Englishman Nigel Reo-Coker, reports the website Prost Amerika. The midfielder just finished a three-month spell with Ipswich Town, but his contract was not renewed.
Prost Amerika points out that Reo-Coker is married to American and his desire to come to MLS is fueled Jurgen Klinsmann and an opportunity with the US national team. However, the website misses the fact that marriage to an American only gets you a green card. To get full citizenship is a much longer process. So, if some basic facts are not correctly reported, the amount of credence to this rumor is debatable.
In any case, Reo-Coker goes back to -- who else! -- Gerard Houllier, for whom he played for Aston Villa. He's also been with Wimbledon, West Ham, and Bolton.
Update: Sky Sports reports that RBNY "have made an offer" for Reo-Coker.
