Interest in Fernando Cavenaghi?
January 16, 2013

According to the Twitter feed Futbol Mercado, RBNY is interested in striker Fernando Cavenaghi. The Argentine international is currently on the books of Villarreal in the Spanish second division.

Cavenaghi is quite a legend at River Plate, where he started his prolific career in 2001. He returned to the club in 2011 before leaving for Spain last year. His other stops were Spartak Moscow, Bordeaux, Mallorca, and Brazil's Internacional.

Cavenaghi has been capped four times for Argentina. He played for his country in the 2003 Youth World Cup, finishing joint top scorer with four goals.

Update: the NY Post reports that RBNY has no interest in Cavenaghi.
