Solli, Tainio, Gaudette to exit
November 15, 2012
According to the Star-Ledger, the housecleaning has begun. RBNY has not picked up the options for Jan Gunnar Solli, Teemu Tainio, Bill Gaudette, and Juan Angulo. Additionally, the New York Times reports that Corey Hertzog and Tyler Ruthven are in the same boat as well. The moves should be announced shortly and are the first in what is expected to be a rather sizable purge.
Solli and Tainio were part of the Scandinavian influx and spent two seasons with the club. Gaudette arrived in a mid-season trade from Los Angeles. Angulo was signed during the past offseason and failed to see time with the first team. Hertzog, a Generation adidas player, played sparingly last year and spent most of 2012 on loan to Wilmington of USL. Ruthven saw limited time in his lone season with the club.
