Frank Rost announces retirement
February 19, 2012

Frank Rost, who ended last season as Metro's starting goalkeeper and spent a part of the offseason negotiating with the club for a return, has officially announced his retirement. His contract ran through the end of 2011, and he was dropped from the roster in January.

"My career is over. I enjoy it now, to get away," Rost wrote. "I am telling you -- it feels good!"

An important part of Rost's Metro legacy comes from the injury he sustained while sitting on an airplane during his return to the US from the triumphant Emirates Cup.
