Giorgi Chirgadze, who became the first academy signing when he made the first team in 2009, has been released. Chirgadze, who missed most of the 2010 season with injuries, never played a first-team minute for RBNY.

Hans Backe confirmed the release to reporters on Media Day. "There is [a reason] but I can't go into it. Not at the moment," he was quoted as saying.

Supplemental draft pick goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer will also not be making the team.
