When the protected list for the expansion draft was released earlier this week, many were surprised that Nick Zimmerman was on it. The rookie hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season, but has shown enough promise and versatility to make it seem that he will be a valued Metro for years to come.

So much for that. Zimmerman went to Philadelphia in the expansion draft. Will keeping him unprotected be as dumb the move as last year, when Jeff Parke was lost? We'll see.
