According to the Associated Press, former Hamburg sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer has been appointed sporting director of the soccer division at Red Bull.

The 45-year-old German will be responsible for Red Bull clubs in Salzburg, New York and Leipzig, as well as the company's football academies in Ghana and Brazil.

Beiersdorfer left Hamburg in June following a dispute among its senior management.
