"Sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you really win, and sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie, and sometimes when you tie, you actually win or lose." -- Rosie Perez, "White Men Can't Jump"

The above quote could be perfectly applied to tonight's match, no matter what the result ended up being. If Metro won, they might have really lost, for Juan Carlos Osorio would keep his job longer. If Metro lost, they could have actually won, for Osorio might have been fired. And if they tied... well, depending on away goals or penalties, that tie could have turn into a win or loss...

Well, it was a loss. A pathetic loss to a below-average, semi-pro team, a terrible loss when Metro once again allowed goals late in the first half -- twice tonight, in the 40th and the 45th, canceling out John Wolyniec's opener and effectively ending the entire season with over two months left.

It was a loss... but might it turn out to be a win?

"This home and away series is really our season." -- Jeff Agoos, earlier this week.

One can only hope. One can only hope.

Lineup: Cepero, Pacheco, Goldthwaite, Petke, Hall, Stammler, Celades, Rojas, Oebster, Richards, Wolyniec. Subs: Borman, Ubiparipovic, Mbuta.
