Erik Stover has not lost patience with Osorio
May 28, 2009
RBNY Managing Director Erik Stover denied the Washington Post report that stated that "Red Bulls upper management is losing patience with Coach Juan Carlos Osorio".
"I would call is an erroneous report. Upper management would be defined as me and the owner; and we have not lost patience with Juan Carlos Osorio," Stover told the New York Post. "This is like what I -- what we -- went through with the story about Red Bull selling the team: It's totally without merit."
"At the end of the day, the buck stops with me. Obviously, like any team the owner has the final say; but I have a lot of influence in the final say in those decisions... (It'd be made by) me and Austria. And I don't know who that (reporter) is. I wouldn't know him if I fell over him. And I'm pretty sure he didn't talk to Mr. Mateschitz."
"Most important, the process we put in place is still moving in the right direction. With every coach in every league there's a time to go in a separate direction; but we're not thinking about that, not thinking about an exit strategy".
Stover also told the Post that the extension offered to Osorio over the winter is "still on the table".
