Dave van den Bergh on his way out?
January 12, 2009

Ugh. According to SoccerByIves, RBNY is considering dealing midfielder Dave van den Bergh, possibly to FC Dallas. The club is reluctant to pay the winger the approximate $270K that he wants.

(Meanwhile, they can't be reluctant to pay $192K to Juan Pietravallo because he signed a guaranteed deal. That sound you heard is us punching our fist through the wall. Ugh.)

Although van den Bergh is a free agent, he is not free to move inside MLS, because RBNY has given him a qualifying offer. At this point, his options are: sign with RBNY, sign with RBNY and be traded to another club, or sign with a team outside MLS.
