Metro offer deal to Matthew Mbuta
September 10, 2008

RBNY is in talks with trialist midfielder Matthew Mbuta, reports the NY Post. "Hopefully we will have an announcement very, very soon," Juan Carlos Osorio is quoted as saying.

Mbuta, whose real first name is Andongcho, was part of the Crystal Palace Baltimore team that unceremoniously whacked Metro out of the Open Cup earlier this summer. Last season, he scored five goals and tallied seven assists, and was named to the All-USL2 team. This year, the 22-year-old has slumped to two goals and two assists. However, he has recorded four assists in three matches for the Metro reserves the past month.

The Cameroonian started his career with PWD de Bamenda in his native country and then transfered to DPMM FC, a Brunean team in the Malaysian Super League, before coming to Baltimore in 2007.

The MLS transfer window closes September 15th.
