Gaudette vs Metro, 2005
Ex-MLSers, Kassel among training camp invitees
January 29, 2008

Former MLS players, Metro supplemental picks, a multitude of college free agents, a couple of USL players, an odd youth coach, and an intriguing academy prospect are all participating in RBNY's training camp at the Giants Stadium bubble. Here are the most interesting names:

  • Tighe Dombrowski, D/M, San Jose (2004-05), last with IK Sirus in the Swedish second division
  • Marshall Leonard, D/M, New England (2003-07), missed most of last two seasons after ACL tear
  • Bill Gaudette, G, Columbus (2005-07), see photo on the right
  • Scott Palguta, D, Rochester (USL), played for Metro reserves last year
  • Teddy Niziolek, M/D, still Columbus property after a much-ado-about-nothing tug-of-war last year
  • Matt Kassel, M, could be the first Metro academy graduate to make the first team... if he doesn't chose college instead.

    Entire list:

Andrew Sparks, Alex Satovic, JP Francini, Bill Gaudette, Laurent Manuel, Matt Kassel, Tighe Dombrowski, Scott Palguta, Oscar Carmona, Zen Darwcz, Keith Hernandez, Sola Abolaji, Leonardo Buttitta, Chris Megaloudis, Danleigh Borman, Abimbola Pedro, Marshall Leonard, Martin Nunez, Ted Niziolek, Cody Ericson, Hakin Zermouni, Felipe Libreros, Gabriel Ortega, Christian Camacho, Michael Palacio, John Gilkerson, Steve Curfman, Ricky Schramm, Spencer Allen, Ben Clark, Carlos Manuel Mora, Mauricio Turizio, Alex Cunliffe, Kevin Mesa, David Panchano.
