Mario Gomez, who was drafted by the MetroStars in 2002, is on trial with the Red Donkeys and could be signed soon, MetroFanatic has learned. The Honduran-born midfielder spent the last three years with CD Vida in his country's first division; he has also been capped for the Honduran national team. Gomez was taken by Metro in the 5th round in 2002 after a college career at New Jersey City University.
