Lalas could be on his way out
April 11, 2006
According to BigAppleSoccer, Alexi Lalas could be out as the Reds' GM, possibly as early as this week. Red Bull is said to be not exactly happy with the "partly" 35,000 crowd that attended the much-promoted home opener, and are said to have wanted their own man in charge since the takeover. With Doug Hamilton's death leaving the Galaxy GM job open, Lalas could return to the West Coast.
Who would replace Lalas? One possibility is the return of our "favorite" ex-GM, Nick Sakiewicz, on an interim basis, which was first reported by MetroFanatic almost a month ago. Another is the pompous jackass, Giorgio Chinaglia... God save us all.
The future of Mo Johnston could also be in question, as Red Bull could be quick to act on the axe if positive results are not going to come. Once again, Roberto Donadoni's name continues to surface as a possible replacement.
