Danny O'Rourke acquired for Adrian Serioux
March 24, 2006 (Official Press Release)

Red Bull New York announced today that they have acquired midfielder Danny O'Rourke from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for midfielder Adrian Serioux. The fourth overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, O'Rourke appeared in 13 games for the Western Conference regular season champion San Jose Earthquakes last season. A four-year standout at Indiana University, the 22-year-old captained the Hoosiers to back-to-back national titles in 2003 and 2004. He also was awarded the prestigious Hermann Trophy in 2004, which is college soccer's equivalent of college football's Heisman Trophy.

"In the past two weeks we've experienced a sea of change within our organization and these moves are in accordance with our new direction and philosophy," said Red Bull New York President and General Manager Alexi Lalas.

Adrian Serioux was signed by the Red Bulls on March 1 after spending the last two seasons with Millwall of England's Second Division. During his time with Millwall, Serioux appeared in 12 games, along with two appearances in the English Carling Cup. The 6-0, 180-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario made his Canadian National Team debut in a World Cup Qualifier against Guatemala on August 4, 2004. He has totaled eight caps in his international career to date.
