Ibrahim's double leads Metro reserves to first win ever

The Colorado Rapids Reserves dropped a 3-2 decision to the MetroStars in a game played at the Broomfield High School turf field on Sunday, May 1st.

The first goal of the day came in the 36th minute, when MetroStars forward Abbe Ibrahim beat goalkeeper Michael Cardenas to his left post on a one-on-one breakaway.

The Rapids responded four minutes later, when forward Wolde Harris one-timed a through pass from Leo Cullen, beating goalkeeper Michael Ueltschey.

A penalty kick whistle by the referee in the 44th minute set the stage for MetroStars midfielder Gilberto Flores to net his first goal of the day. He beat Cardenas to his right post.

Rapids forward Eugene Sepuya evened the scoring in the 63rd minute, when he dribbled past two defenders at the top of the box before unleashing a powerful shot that beat substitute goalkeeper Jonny Walker to his right post.

The final goal of the day came in the 80th minute, when Ibrahim found himself again on a one-on-one situation and beat Cardenas to his right post.
