According to Spain's Sport, Rafael Marquez has agreed to a "tentative agreement" with RBNY. Marquez is currently in New York and is due to return to Barcelona on July 26th, when he will attempt to negotiate his release from the Catalan giants so that RBNY doesn't have to pay a transfer fee. According to Sport, the signing will not be announced until August 1st.

Nothing is mentioned about problems that might occur when Marquez tries to get out from his Barcelona contract.
